It is best if you use various tools that will help you refine your keyword discovery to suit all scenarios. So, aside from using Google Keyword Planner and SEMrush, you can also use other tools like “Answer the Public” and Google Trends.

  • Look at Your Competitors’ Keyword Use and Adapt Accordingly

The way you can get an advantage over your competition when it comes to SEO is to actually use some of their keywords while also providing your own to yield the best possible results.

You can use tools such as Ahrefs or SpyFu to gain knowledge about what your competitors are using in terms of keywords. The latter tool actually provides in-depth analytics of the keywords your rivals are using so you can use this knowledge to adopt some of their keywords while also using some of your own to give the best content possible to your readers.

  • Categorize Keywords

Once you’ve acquired enough keywords for use on your website and in your content, it is now time to categorize them so that it will be easier for you in the long run.

You should separate them according to the category, match type, user intent, and your brand as well.

You can use Google Sheets or other similar platforms that allow you to build columns and categorize your keywords under the different banners that have been mentioned earlier.

Now that everything is set, you can now use your researched keywords as you see fit. Once everything is implemented and your SEO strategies are done, it is best that you keep track of their performance using the different SEO analytical tools available online.
